Debate on youth unemployment

by on May 21, 2014

HR Magazine two day ‘hot topic’ on youth unemployment.  In Part One, M&S HR director Tanith Dodge provides a rather specific take on the issue by reviewing the initiatives M&S have been undertaking along with the Princes Trust.  While in  part two Lizzie Crowley, head of youth unemployment programmes at the Work Foundation, sounds a note of concern regarding the recent unemployment statistics and refers to The Work Foundation’s Missing Million programme as an example of a long term approach.

While the pieces in HR magazine offer only a brief overview of some aspects, a more lengthy review can be found in this weeks Opinion Piece on The Policy Network which again provides some very useful links to the Work Foundation and other research over the last few years.  Well worth a read.

All this is very timely as @ageatwork are busy preparing our research presentation for this year’s International Conference on Organizational Discourse on the very topic of ‘The Missing Million’.  More details will be added to our forthcoming presentations page soon!
