Business Perspectives Masterclass: Leading and managing in age diverse organisations Thursday 12 February 2015

by on January 23, 2015

I am delighted to be leading The Open University’s next ‘Business Perspectives’ event: Leading and managing in age diverse organisations on February 12th.  Booking is open!

I recently posted a guest post for the Business Perspectives blog in which I set out why I feel discussing age diversity at work is of critical importance to managers and leaders in contemporary organisations.  Yesterday’s post here covering the survey that revealed HR professionals are aware of age related issues but are not considering this a strategic HR challenge highlights age diversity as a neglected issue.  On the day I will be joined by colleagues from OUBS who are researching different aspects of older and younger age (including my Age at Work colleague Dr Rebecca Whiting, Professor Sharon Collard and Professor David Wilson, who will be presenting with Professor Melanie Simms, University of Leicester).  But the academic story is only part of the day.  We are very lucky to be joined by experts from a range of sectors including:

  • Peter Cheese, Chief Executive of the CIPD
  • Paul Deemer and Robyn Palmer, NHS employers
  • Lydia Fearn, Barclays
  • James Davies, Lewis Silkin LLP
  • Martin Hall, BMW

Don’t forget to book your place!
