The cost of age discrimination: John McCririck ‘gambles his house’

by on October 2, 2013

It’s hard to avoid the topic of age discrimination this week with the long awaited start of the hearing of John McCririck’s claim against Channel 4 and TV production company IMG Media Limited.

Amongst the information that has so far come to light, McCririck’s comments on the personal cost of bringing proceedings are worth noting. According to this article in the Mirror, he has ‘gambled his house’ (in Primrose Hill) on the outcome, having taken out an equity release scheme to fund the claim.

A house in this part of leafy North London is beyond the means of most people; is that also the case for bringing a claim for age discrimination?
