Do these surverys tell us anything about age? Older workers more likely to quit work after lottery win
According to the latest news of age/generational differences (conflated in the report) posted on an American news website and summarising report by Gallup , on winning a $10 million prize “the research discovered that just 18 percent of millennials would stop working completely, compared with nearly half of workers over the age of 55”.
There are of course a number of problems with such surveys, not least since measuring intention is rather different from a measure of actual behaviour. I also suspect that several other variables might come into play here! Just goes to show that age related issues are seen as a means of generating headlines by the press I think.
