The NHS Working Longer Review

by on March 18, 2013

It seems very likely that many organizations (and individuals) will be reflecting on the prospect and impact of longer working lives.

With the NHS one of the biggest employers in the world, it’s perhaps not surprising that the Working Longer Review has been set up to consider the implications of a raised retirement age for staff, patients and employers in the NHS.

Its Steering Group is made up of representatives of the three groups who make up the Review body: recognised NHS Trade Unions, NHS employers and the Department of Health.

According to the key messages (link here) the Steering Group is undertaking an audit of existing research on the impact of NHS staff working longer and current employment practice. Results of the audit are due next month.
