Working Late: Presentation of research findings

by on March 13, 2013

I attended the Working Late showcase event yesterday presented by their research team.

This collaborative research project has been funded under the New Dynamics of Ageing Programme and looked at ‘Strategies to Enhance Productive and Healthy Environments for the Older Workforce’.

The material presented included:

  • Interventions to Promote Health and Workability;
  • Improving The Journey To Work;
  • Ageing productively through design; and
  • New Dynamics of Later Life Working

Of these, the last topic (capturing the experience of the over 50′s in light of the recent pensions, age discrimination and retirement legislation) was the most relevant to our own research. It was interesting to hear, however, how issues relating to the design of work have been explored through the lens of older age but actually often relate to best practice (for all ages) and/or to behaviours that start long before people reach 50 plus.

More information on the project can be found on the here on the Working Late website.
