Youth employment

by on January 2, 2013

Happy New Year!

Looking through the material that has gathered over the holiday period, I am struck by how much of it relates to youth (un)employment. Shortly before Christmas, we noted  the European Commission’s proposed measures including a proposal whereby each member state would guarantee by law that those below 25 years would receive a job offer, further education or an internship within four months of finishing their studies or losing their job.

This presentation by Marco Fantini (Unit Youth Employment, Entrepreneurship, Microfinance Facility, DG EPML, European Commission) on 20 December 2012 in Brussels gives more detail on the Youth Employment Package.
