Scotland’s Youth Employment Summit
We’ve just come across a scheme in Scotland by the Centre for Scottish Public Policy (CSPP) called “Adopt an Intern”. The Centre is an independent cross-party think-tank.
The aim of the initiative is to connect unemployed graduates with their member organisations and wider network of partners. All internships are paid (at least the minimum wage) and are offered across a range of companies in the public, private and third sectors. Their website doesn’t, as far as I can see, mention age though I notice that all the images of interns seem to be of young people.
On this page of the Centre’s website are details of a summit on youth employment on Wednesday 5 December 2012 at The Hub, Castlehill, Edinburgh. The summit aims to provide an opportunity for young people from across Scotland to engage with Government Ministers and other senior stakeholders to identify what measures would be most effective in supporting access to employment.
