Older women on TV
The debate about the treatment of (older) women on televsion continues.
Incoming Director General of the BBC, George Entwistle, spoke last week of his wish to have more women on BBC TV and radio. But as reported in The Guardian, Miriam O’Reilly, who won an age discrimination claim against the corporation last year, has now made a formal complaint about the “hostile attitude” of BBC executives towards her following her return to work in the wake of her ageism case.
