Youth employment: the statistics

The Office for National Statistics has released figures and analysis relating to trends in youth (un)employment over the last few years.

I hadn’t seen one of their podcasts before but they’re quite a handy way of getting the statistics explained with helpful graphics: the one relating to youth employment is at the following link:

This article in the Guardian considers these statistics and explores the problems faced by the young in getting jobs since the recession, suggesting that it is harder for them than for older workers.
